In his book The Forms of Color, the Swiss artist and designer Karl Gerstner introduced the notion of Correspondences to organize ways in which ideas from art and music interact. In reading the writing of artists and musicians, we have expanded on Gerstner’s work to create a catalogue of interesting hypotheses, possibilities, and zones of mystery that can be called upon while constructing musical interfaces for visual art.
